Catherine Nuñez-Dune
Research Assistant
Catherine (Cat) is a queer Latina scholar-activist who is currently pursuing a MS in Disaster Resilience Leadership at Tulane University. She has a bachelor’s in social work with a minor in Spanish from University of Vermont and has worked with Latine families and children living with autism in the Greater New Orleans area. Since joining the Consortium for Equitable Disaster Resilience team, Cat has contributed heavily to areas of scholarly writing, community outreach and equitable research design.
A fun fact about Cat Dune is that she loves to roller-skate and teaches little ones how to do so. Her favorite place to eat in NOLA is Queen Trini Lisa in MidCity. Cat Dune is expected to graduate in December 2023 and looks forward to bringing an intersectional ecofeminist lens to the disaster resilience space.
