Lovia is currently living in New Orleans pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychological Sciences focusing on social psychology at Tulane University. Her research examines interpersonal and intergroup relationships as they relate to well–being and belonging in U.S. institutions. She is currently working with CEDR as an undergraduate student fellow supervisor.

She is a big fan of horror and Lifetime movies and loves to grab some Haitian food from Fritai (NOLA) and Rendez–Vous (Gretna).
